Atlanta Braves is an American baseball club from Atlanta, Georgia. The Braves play their games in Major League Baseball. They play in the Eastern Division of the National League. From 2017 they play their home games at the SunTrust Park. From 1997 to 2016, Turner Field was the home port. The Braves have won the World Series 4 times: in 1914, 1957, 1995 and in 2021.
Hank Aaron is without a doubt the Best Brave of all time and some say he is the best player to wear a baseball uniform. He is #1 on the all-time Braves list in home runs with 755, RBI with 2,202, at-bats with 11,628, games with 3,076 and total bases with 6,591. He was the MVP of the National League in 1957 and was an incredible 24 -fold All Star. Aaron was a pioneer of baseball.
The club was founded in Boston in 1871 as the Boston Red Stockings. After that they changed names several times. They played as the Boston Red Caps from 1876 to 1882, then as the Boston Beaneaters from 1883 to 1906, as the Boston Doves from 1907 to 1910, in 1911 as the Boston Rustlers, from 1912 to 1935 as the Boston Braves, from 1936 to 1940 as the Boston Bees, from 1941 to 1952 again as the Boston Braves. From 1953 the club moved to Milwaukee and played there through 1965 as the Milwaukee Braves. Finally they moved to Atlanta in 1966 and the name was changed to Atlanta Braves.
